William Edward Clay,
66, of Indianapolis, passed away March 9, 2025. He was born February 14, 1959 in Newton, Massachusetts to the late Wallace Gordon and Kaye (Dunfield) Clay. William was a graduate of Belmont High School and received his bachelor’s degree from IUPUI. He was employed in the hospitality industry as a kitchen manager for several years.
William married Mary “Elaine” Clay January 26, 2001. He was a kind soul that many were drawn too and loved telling jokes, in fact, while living in Los Angeles he actually did stand-up at The Comedy Store. William was an Eagle Scout and an avid fan of The Beatles.
Visitation will be Monday, March 17, 2025 from 12 noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers.
William is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Elaine Clay; siblings, Julie Clay, Gordon (Ann) Clay, Diane (Rich) Smith, and Kate (Roger) Merrill; father-in-law, John P. Clamme; and brother-in-law, John M. Clamme (Jennifer); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
